HONORING WHISKEY TRADITIONS

WHILE SIMULTANEOUSLY EMBRACING INNOVATION.

Tradition. Art. Science. Magic.

Our award-winning, limited production whiskey honors tradition and the science behind making a good glass of it. But like your favorite song, something angelic blesses it, elevating technique and skill into fine art. We want our bottles to taste like magic and light your life. Whether sipping our lush grain-to-glass Bourbon while learning to play guitar or savoring the notes found in our world-class vintage whiskey hand-selected from barrels, we hope our whiskeys elevate the everyday and accompany your life’s biggest triumphs.

Marsha Milam
Entrepreneur, Partner

Marsha Milam brought her passion for building successful ventures such as the Austin film-festival and “KGSR’s Unplugged at the Grove” to the Ben Milam Distillery after breathing in a quiet moment inside a Kentucky warehouse. “All that quiet, the beauty, and the irreverence of whiskey spoke to me. It sits in that barrel and does exactly what it wants to do. You can’t rush it.”

Ben Milam’s distillery releases in the past two years have gone on to win the Double Gold award at the San Francisco World Spirits competition both in 2017 and 2018. Plans for expansion are firmly in place, and include what she calls the “Whiskey Dream Team.”

Marsha currently sits on the boards of The Austin Film Festival, the Clifford Antone Foundation, the HOPE Outdoor Gallery and H.O.M.E which provides housing assistance to aging musicians.

Heather Greene
CEO, Partner

World-renowned whiskey expert and Author Heather Greene joined the team as a blending and marketing consultant in 2018. After spending years on the road working and writing for distilleries, Heather decided to “pack it up” and throw her experience behind the wee group in Blanco, Texas after falling in love with their passion, synergistic love of music (Heather is also a musician), and whiskey-making skills.

Before joining the company, Greene was the first woman to serve on the Scotch Malt Whisky Society tasting panel in Edinburgh, Scotland, served as an award-winning Scotch whisky ambassador, and is a current judge on prestigious tasting panels such as the ACSA and the ISCW in London, as well as the author of New York Times shortlisted Whiskey Distilled, A Populist Guide to the Water of Life. She has written about whiskey in columns for publications such as Eater and CNBC. She appeared nationally on media outlets such as CBS This Morning, Bloomberg News, Fox, The Food Network, and MSNBC.

Marlene Holmes
master distiller

Holmes started her career in whiskey in 1990 with Jim Beam in Boston, Kentucky. During her time with the classic bourbon brand, she honed her craft and learned the ins and outs of the whiskey business–from distillery operator to whiskey cutter–all while producing more than 1,400 barrels a day. After 27 years, she was ready for a change of pace and considered retiring. That’s when she heard about Ben Milam Whiskey.

Marlene remains passionate about the art of whiskey and the smell of bourbon. She joined Ben Milam in 2018–a whiskey she says is the best she’s ever put in her mouth–and is excited about the opportunity to be creative and hands on, develop new products and help the brand grow.

Jordan Osborne
head brewer

Born and raised near Houston, Jordan is a Navy veteran who draws on his background as a beer brewer to create the mash for what becomes our distinctive, high quality whiskeys.

“What I love about Ben Milam Whiskey is we are centered around authenticity, from our founder’s direct lineage to Ben, to the quality of our whiskey. We carry this authenticity throughout our company. I’m excited to help create some of the finest whiskey in Texas,” he says.

Previously Jordan pursued a career in the art and science of brewing in Durango, CO. Within a year of joining an award-winning Colorado brewery, he had risen from a member of the production crew to lead brewer. “My passion for brewing and distilling comes from the creative yet systematic processes involved. It’s an exciting and rewarding experience turning raw materials and ingredients into a product which brings people together,” he explains.

When he’s not crafting great whiskey, Jordan recharges in the outdoors, indulging a longtime fondness for camping and fly fishing.

Willie Eckhardt
SALES MANAGER

Willie Eckhardt joined the company after spending thirty years harnessing the power of his personality, charm and wit atSouthern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits. We were hard-pressed to find anyone who knew the back roads of Texas like Willie. Comfortable on both a dive-bar stool and being served the finest steaks in town, Willie fits in just about everywhere he goes. And that’s a good thing! He’ll buy a round of drinks for whomever finds themselves lucky enough to be around him.

Chandler Quentin
MARKETING

Chandler packed two bags, said goodbye to her Mom, Dad, dog, soccer balls and siblings to start a new home in Austin, Texas, while wondering, “I hope I can make this work.” Isn’t that the brave and pioneering, daring attitude we all hope for our own lives?

We also found it particularly Texan! With whiskeys being a celebration of life, we are quick to identify her grab-the-bull-by-the-horn outlook and as such we now toast to her regularly. Chandler holds a degree in Economics from Tufts University in Boston, Mass.
